We are seeking an experienced and motivated Landscape Operations Manager to lead our landscaping installation and maintenance team on various projects around the Auckland region. 

As our Landscape Operations Manager, you will have a blended role of leadership, project management, and occasional hands-on work. 

This position requires familiarity with all aspects of landscape construction, including quote preparation,  equipment operation, demolition, site preparation, grading/height setting, softscaping, hardscaping, and effective communication with customers, subcontractors, designers, and other stakeholders.
In this role, you will oversee the project management and operations of our installations and lead our installation team to success. 
You must be a confident leader with excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills.


  • Schedule installations and coordinate installation team members.

  • Create weekly/daily plans and communicate to the crew before starting work.

  • Maintain day-to-day knowledge of customer contracts in progress, including completion status.

  • Monitor budgeted hours versus actual hours and take appropriate steps to ensure proper tracking and performance requirements are met.

  • Ensure adherence to plans and maintain high-quality work standards.

  • Maintain accurate records of job site activity, including labour, materials, equipment usage and health and safety. 

  • Warehouse and yard logistics -  incoming and outgoing.

  • Preparing all quotes and estimations.

  • Site visits and overseeing work completed by the team to ensure all work is completed to a high standard, on time and within budget.

  • Manage company equipment and vehicle fleet.

  • Train and mentor team members on proper techniques, equipment usage, and safety procedures.

  • Provide accountability and development conversations to crew members as needed.

  • Utilise CRM system daily to update schedules and manage crew output.


Skills & Experience:

  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire team members.

  • Minimum 2+ years of experience leading a landscape or construction team.

  • Ability to read landscape plans/blueprints, and take projects from start to finish.

  • Proficient knowledge of landscape construction, including job layout, grading, softscape and hardscape installation, material calculation, and customer communication.

  • Quoting and estimation preparation.

  • Formal Landscaping qualifications are preferred but not essential if you have relevant work experience.

  • Valid NZ driver’s license, clean driving record and be able to drive a manual company vehicle.

  • Attention to detail and focus on quality, efficiency and health and safety.

  • Proficiency in completing necessary job site and company paperwork efficiently.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively to find solutions.

  • A good level of health and fitness,  and to be able to lift heavy objects and work outdoors in all weather conditions.

Typically 40 hours a week, but you may be offered to work additional hours,  or work shorter days in extremely bad weather.
